Crewkerne, England, U.K. — SHIELD Sights, pioneer of compact red dot optics, is proud to announce the launch of the OMSx Micro Red Dot Sight, a new optic that blends the competition-driven performance of the RMSx with the innovative translucent roof architecture of the OMSsc, delivering an unrestricted sight picture with almost zero visual obstruction.

The OMSx was developed to give shooters the widest, brightest, and fastest-acquiring sight picture possible in a compact footprint. By combining the translucent roof design of the OMSsc with the wide viewing window of the RMSx, the OMSx creates the visual effect of an even larger window, allowing shooters to pick up the dot faster and track targets more intuitively under speed and stress.

Like the OMSsc, the OMSx features a translucent roof design that allows ambient light to naturally reach the emitter and lens, improving clarity and brightness across changing lighting conditions. This design, combined with  SHIELD’s automatic brightness adjustment, samples ambient light thousands of times per second to ensure optimal dot intensity without user input.

Drawing from the RMSx, the OMSx incorporates a wide, competition-inspired viewing window that enhances situational awareness and facilitates faster dot acquisition during transitions and movement. The result is an optic that feels larger and brighter than traditional enclosed designs while remaining streamlined and competition ready.

The OMSx is manufactured from aerospace-grade anodized T6 6082 aluminum, offering excellent durability and corrosion resistance. It shares the SHIELD standard footprint, allowing direct mounting on slides cut for SHIELD RMSc/SMSc-pattern optics and enabling co-witness with standard-height iron sights.

The NX6 Riflescope Family

The NX6 family comes equipped with the new FieldSet turret system, maintaining Nightforce’s legendary repeatability in an easy-to-use, configurable design. The dial and stop position of the exposed FieldSet can be quickly reset in a single action using just about any field expedient tool you have in your pocket or range bag. The capped configuration can be easily converted to an exposed dial, based on the shooter’s preferences. If desired, the exposed dials can be swapped for Bullet Drop Compensating (BDC) dials, which are custom-engraved to your specific ballistic information.

In addition to offering several of their most popular reticles, Nightforce has introduced six new designs specifically developed to maximize the capability of the NX6 family. The Pirata Series consists of three models: Pirata Elite (OTB / subsurface), Pirata Mid, and Pirata Low. The Pirata Elite features an integrated knit collar inspired by the OTB Abyss Series that fully eliminates sand infiltration during subsurface and wet-sandy operations. Across all models, the Pirata Series shares a common performance foundation: the outsole design and rubber compound are directly derived from OTB’s Abyss boot, a platform used by U.S. Navy special operations units, and is recognized for exceptional traction on wet decks and maritime surfaces. The boots feature a widened, stable fit, a slightly beveled heel for improved ground contact, and fast-rope guards on both the medial and lateral sides. Underfoot performance is a defining characteristic of the Pirata Series. Compared to traditional maritime assault boots that rely on minimal cushioning, Pirata incorporates nearly an inch of advanced EVA cushioning, delivering running-shoe-level comfort and impact protection for extended movements. The boot is also equipped with OTB’s exclusive Contoura Insight footbed, a non-water-absorbing polyurethane design with integrated drainage that allows water to pass directly through the footbed and exit via side-mounted drain ports.

All textile components of the Pirata Series are treated with an anti-wicking finish to prevent water absorption, allowing the boots to dry in 30 minutes or less, whether worn or exposed to open air. Plymouth, MI (January 2026) – EOTECH is proud to add to its family of super short optics, with the release of the Vudu 4-12×36 First Focal Plane rifle scope. The 4-12x shares similarities to EOTECH’s wildly popular 3-9×32 launched in 2025, but its first focal plane design gears this optic to the more tactical or professional user.

The 4-12x’s overall length is only 7.1”, making this optic ideal on even the shortest rifle or AR-pistol designs. &The scope body is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum to be a compact, lightweight, but still incredibly durable package that is fog, water and shock resistant. Its 36mm objective lens allows for excellent light transmission, even in low-light, or dusk and dawn conditions.

A wide power band on the eyepiece makes transitioning from low to high magnification quick and easy and a substantial boss feature on the power ring makes it even faster. An adjustable diopter allows for precise focus for the individuals vision.

The scope’s turrets offer .1 MRAD adjustments and are both capped to protect from inclement weather or inadvertent adjustments. And, once the scope is zeroed, the turrets can quickly be reset to zero.

A rotary dial located on the left side of the optic provides an illuminated reticle with 10 brightness settings to help in dusk and dawn lighting conditions. A CR2032 is located next to the rotary dial providing roughly 300 hours of operation. The 4-12x sports the same XC high density, low dispersion multi-coated glass as its predecessors for excellent light transmission and scene clarity.

But what makes the 4-12x stand out from other magnified optics is its mounting interface. To minimize the overall length, EOTECH reduced the tube area typically used for mounting rings. Instead, a machined interface located at the bottom of the scope will adapt to the included EOTECH mount, or any aftermarket mini-ACOGÒ mounts, and mount directly on a mil-standard rail. This provides a 1.53” height above more, clearing most rear iron sights.

The first focal plane is preferred by more tactical users because the design allows quick range estimation and trajectory compensation at any magnification. In this design, the reticle and its sub-tensions, maintains its size relative to the target image. For those wanting a non-magnified solution, EOTECH offers an optional ring mount that can be attached to the slim, front tube section to mount an EFLX or other compatible micro sights. It can be positioned at the 12 o’clock position or at 45-degree offsets to give you immediate transitions for close or moving targets.
